Information about Wayne Internet Scheduling System
Wayne Internet Scheduling System (WISE) is the program through which Scheduling Coordinators review and submit their department’s schedules for each semester. As soon as the Scheduling Manager rolls a term schedule forward in Banner, that term is immediately available in WISE for Scheduling Coordinators to begin reviewing and submitting changes. Scheduling Coordinators are expected to regularly review their department’s schedule for any discrepancies and/or missing information.
Accessing WISE
To access WISE, navigate to Academica→Employee Resources→Administrative Systems→Wayne Internet Scheduling systEm (WISE).
All users have view-only access associated with their WSU accessID, but Scheduling Coordinators need edit access for the subjects that they oversee. In order to obtain edit access for applicable subjects, new Departmental Scheduling Coordinators should email a request to Scheduling at scheduling@wayne.edu. New users can also request WISE training by emailing Scheduling.
Submitting changes in WISE
Besides sections scheduled at our extension centers, most changes made in WISE populate directly to Banner prior to the start of Registration. Once Registration begins for a given term, the only changes that can be submitted through WISE are changes to the Instructor, Permission Required, and Team Taught fields. Instructor changes can be submitted in WISE through the Census Date listed on the Academic Calendar.
Requests to change Limits can be entered in the Comments field in WISE. Limit change requests are compared to prior years to ensure we are making the best use of the limited space we have available.
Final Exam Schedules are published after the WISE deadline (once the class schedule is finalized).
Tips for using WISE
If you need a copy of your sections to distribute to your colleagues, we have added a "Generate XLS" button at the bottom of WISE to export the listing of classes you have selected. (This is currently not working when using Chrome).
You can also run your own "roll" in Cognos. The name of the report is STSC016 - Class Schedule Roll, and can be found in this directory: Public Folders > Student > Departmental Shareable - OR Scheduling. However, changes must be submitted using the WISE system. The downside to pulling a list through Cognos is that you will be pulling data from yesterday. It is important to know that any changes you made that day will not be immediately displayed in a Cognos report.
