Essentials sessions
We offer essentials sessions in:
Essentials Sessions are designed for undergraduate and post-bachelor students pursuing pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-PA, and pre-nursing, pre-optometry, pre-veterinary, pre-health sciences, or pre-OT. Held year-round, essentials sessions will familiarize students with the required and recommended prerequisite coursework, major and minor selection, extracurricular activities and healthcare experiences, professional exploration, the application timeline, and other helpful campus resources.
Pre-Medicine
Pre-Med advisors request that you attend an Essentials Session prior to scheduling a one-on-one appointment.
Sessions will be held either in-person or on Zoom. The University Advising Center is located at Suite 1600 in the Undergraduate Library. A reminder email, and Zoom link if appropriate, will be sent 24 hours before the event.

Pre-Dental

Pre-Physician Assistant
Pre-PA Essentials sessions for current and prospective Wayne State undergraduates taking classes for any Physician Assistant program in the country. Pre-PA students need to attend an Essentials meeting prior to scheduling a one-on-one appointment. N

Pre-Nursing
These sessions are designed to share the "essentials" of a competitive application to the College of Nursing. Each session includes suggested resources and experiences that pre-nursing students can use as they prepare their applications. The session includes supplemental materials review at the College of Nursing Information Sessions.
